Player of the year – Blake Geoffrion, Wisconsin

Geoffrion is a Hobey Hat Trick finalist, and led the league with 27 goals. The Senior also displayed tremendous leadership on and off the ice, and was a dependable defensive forward as well.

Freshman of the year – Danny Kristo, North Dakota

Kristo led all rookies with 15 goals and had 36 points in 41 games played. He had only three less points than Jonathan Toews did in his Freshman year in Grand Forks, and he did so in one less game. Kristo also played on the Gold medal winning WJC team.

Coach of the year – Dave Hakstol, North Dakota

Hakstol’s team lost Senior Chay Genoway just 8 games into the WCHA season, and even though they only had one 20 goal scorer and no point per game scorers, the Sioux rebounded to grab home ice in the WCHA playoffs, and won the WCHA Final Five
