Before we jump in this week, a reminder of how I do things:

1. The bracket is made based on how I think the field will shake out when it is announced, not how it would look if the tournament started today.

2. Regional hosts have to play in the regional they are hosting.

3. Efforts are made to protect the top seeds.

4. Teams from the same conference don’t matchup in the first round, unless there are 5 or more teams in the field from the same conference

St. Paul

1. Denver

2. Bemidji State

3. Vermont

4. RIT

Ft. Wayne

1. Miami

2. St. Cloud State

3.UMass

4. North Dakota

Albany

1. Wisconsin

2. Maine

3. Minnesota-Duluth

4. Cornell

Worcester

1. Boston College

2. Colorado College

3. Ferris St

4. Yale

By virtue of their Beanpot title, and with New Hampshire getting swept last weekend, the Eagles moved up to a tie for 5th in the Pairwise, and I like their ability to rise to the last #1 seed seeing as the WCHA teams will probably beat up on eachother.

I’m not positive if two ECAC Hockey teams will make the tournament based on the way the math works out, but Yale and Cornell are playing so well right now that I don’t see how they can get left out.

My projected Frozen Four this week: 1. Denver 1. Miami 4. Cornell and 1. Boston College
