Generally when your Saturday features only one assist, you’re not even going to be a candidate for the player of the week, much less be the winner. Let me introduce you to Miami forward Tommy Wingels who, yes, had 1 assist on Saturday, but had 4 goals on Friday against Ohio State.

Wingels scored the first of his goals at 12:47 of the first period. It was a PPG and the game winner. He also scored at 2:49 of the second and 3:14 and 5:54 of the 3rd period. Wingels’s goals, and his assist on Saturday, helped Miami to a sweep over Ohio State and a spot back at the top of the power rankings.
