Player Of The Week

It’s not often that goalies get the opportunity to win three games in a week, much less come through. So Brown’s Mike Clemente doing so obviously perked up my eyebrows. When I saw he had a 1.00 GAA and a .971 save percentage, it was obvious that he needs to be the player of the week.

Last week, in mid-week, Clemente allowed just 1 goal in a win over Harvard at Harvard. Clemente made an incredible 42 saves. Then, against Princeton, he had 36 saves. But what really stood out was his 22 saves in a 2-1 over Quinnipiac. At the time, Quinnipiac was the highest scoring team in the country. Clemente saw 103 shots last week and saved 100 of them.

His stellar week “vaulted” Brown into 7th in ECAC Hockey. The Sophomore is having a stellar season, and appears on his way to a stellar career.
