Lighting The Lamp: New Number 1?

facebooktwitterreddit

Denver 3, North Dakota 2: Brad Eidsness made 29 saves for the Sioux, and North Dakota had a 2-0 lead after 1, but Denver scored 3 3rd period goals to earn the sweep. Joe Colborne had 2 goals for the Pioneers. I may or may not have Denver in the number 1 spot come Monday.

Alaska 3, Lake State 2: Lake State had a 2-0 lead after 1, but 2 3rd period goals by Dion Knelsen tied it up. Bryant Molle won it 4:11 into overtime.

Yale 6, Brown 5: 6 Different Bulldogs scored, and 4 different Bears got on the scoresheet. Broc Little had the GWG just 2:32 into overtime. Hopefully this eased the pain of Yale losing to Harvard in football today.

Quinnipiac 3, Cornell 2: The Cornell defense led the Bobcats to just 19 shots, but Ben Scrivens only saved 16 of them. ECAC Hockey looks to be wide open this season, and maybe Quinnipiac can break through in the league. Dan Clarke made 23 saves.

Dartmouth 3, St. Lawrence 2: Kain Tisi had 40 saves for St. Lawrence but it was not enough  as goals by Scott Fleming, Doug Jones and Joe Gauded gave Dartmouth a big win after a rough loss to Clarkson on Friday.

Also of note: of the four Hockey East games played, 3 of them ended in 3-3 ties. The other game featured two teams who each scored in a multiple of three: Lowell beat Merrimack 6-3.
