Tons of good games out there last night, let’s hop right to it.

Merrimack 5, Vermont 2: Reigning player of the week Stephane Da Costa didn’t register a point, but Francois Ouimet had a goal and an assist and Joe Cannata made 25 saves to get Merrimack a huge Hockey East win.

Boston College 3, Notre Dame 2: Joe Whitney got the game winner at 11:30 of the 3rd period, and John Muse had 20 saves to defeat the Irish, who now have 3 defeats in 3 weekends. Calle Ridderwall and Ben Ryan had the goals for Notre Dame.

North Dakota 5, Alaska-Anchorage 0: Chay Genoway got yet another goal, but Freshman goaltender Aaron Dell was the star in this one. Dell had a shutout in his debut, and also assisted on a Sioux goal.

Denver 3, Minnesota 0: Rhett Rakhshani got two goals and Marc Cheverie made 30 saves for Denver as the Pioneers defeated the struggling Gophers. The huge Pioneer defense did a good job keeping Minnesota’s forwards from getting in too low. Once again Alex Kangas had a good effort for Minnesota.

UMass 5, Maine 3: Even though it was an assist, I think Gustav Nyquist is going to get a point in every game for Maine this year. But it wasn’t enough, as James Marcou had a goal and assist to pace the Minutemen, while Paul Dainton chipped in with 26 saves.
