Denver Has Adversity To Overcome

They may be the preseason #1 team in the land, but the Denver Pioneers have far from a smooth ride ahead of them. Denver has suspended Junior Anthony Maini for their non-conference series vs. Vermont. Maini broke an unspecified team rule. He led Denver both in assists (30) and points (41) as a Sophomore last year.
Denver will also be without Junior forward Dustin Jackson for the entire season after he broke his leg last month.
All-American defenseman Patrick Wiercioch is battling the flu, although he is expected to play vs. Vermont.
