Just a month to go before the season, and Sacred Heart needs a new hockey coach. Shaun Hannah has resigned at Sacred Heart after 13 years at the helm. Hannah helped see the Pioneers from independent to the MAAC to it’s current home in Atlantic Hockey. In 2000, he was the MAAC coach of the year and he led Sacred Heart to the first Atlantic Hockey championship game.

Hannah’s tenure ends with a 191-204-38 record for the Pioneers. They never won a conference regular season or tournament title, and did not appear in an NCAA tournament. The Fairfield, CT school will begin its search for its next head coach immediately, according to its Athletic Director.
