It’s about darn time that NCAA hockey got it’s rightful place on television much like NCAA football has every Saturday. NCAA hockey has always had to live in the shadow of NCAA Football, but their new deal with TSN might be a way for them to hit the stage and breakout.

NCAA hockey is some of the most exciting hockey you can find apart from the NHL. Not everyone of these guys is bound for the NHL and they are all trying to prove they and their school’s are the best in the nation. It’s fantastic that more people are going to see NCAA hockey this season.

"“Canadians have always had a strong presence in college hockey and currently make up 30% of all Division I players. TSN will provide fans in Canada the chance to see for themselves why so many skilled Canadian hockey players are choosing college hockey, and why NCAA Hockey is the fastest growing development path to professional hockey.” ~ Mike Snee, Executive Director, College Hockey Inc."

With NHL hockey moving mostly to Sportsnet thanks to their 12 year deal, TSN has decided to fill their hockey void with the NCAA. With TSN’s 5 channels, you’ll be able to see lots of different sports and games this year, including NCAA hockey and the Frozen Four Championship.

With Jack Eichel and Noah Hanifin making waves in the NCAA and players like Johnny Gaudreau making names for themselves in the college ranks, this is the best time for NCAA hockey to hit the big time on television. They have tons of exciting players and many of them will be the future of the NHL.

TSN will carry 37 NCAA hockey games this season ranging from Notre Dame, Boston University, Boston College and the number one ranked Minnesota Gophers.

This is truly exciting news for all college hockey fans and anyone who wants to see their NHL teams NCAA prospects on a nightly basis. College hockey is truly exciting to watch and now fans will get a chance to watch it on television regularly. What a great pick-up by TSN.
