Stan Galiev Scores Video Game Goal

The Washington Capitals have got themselves a very talented prospect in Stan Galiev. Galiev is currently skating with the Hershey Bears in the AHL and turned some heads the other night with his 360, between the legs goal. It was a move right out of a video game and it’s the not the first time he’s shown that kind of skill.

Here’s the goal from the other night where he pulled off this remarkable goal;

The Bears went on to win the game 3-1 over the Lehigh Valley Phantoms and while some players are trying to get up to speed, Stan Galiev seems to be in midseason form.

The Washington Capitals drafted Stanislav Galiev 86th overall in the 2010 draft. However, after two underwhelming season’s split between the AHL and ECHL, he had become forgotten about in the organization. A draft player with potential who never panned out in the NHL.

Last season Galiev got rocked hard by a hit that shattered his collarbone forcing him to miss 3 months. Not only was his collarbone shattered, his confidence was rocked hard. This preseason was a big one for the 22 year-old and his confidence is starting to return as he hopes to stick in the AHL.

This impressive video-game esque goal scored by Stan Galiev should get the Capitals attention and maybe, just maybe, the Russian will get his chance to play in the NHL this season and escape being an organizational footnote.

Check out this beautiful breakaway goal he scored a couple of seasons ago. He certainly has the hands and skills to succeed at a high level but can he get everything to work together?

This will be Galiev’s final year in his three year entry-level deal with the Capitals and he has yet to lay down a solid year in the AHL. This is a big year for the forward and it’s goals like this one that will earn the Capitals attention.
