Milwaukee Admirals we hardly knew you. Once the AHL playoffs were underway the Admirals quickly found themselves matched against the Toronto Marlies and as they soon found out, it didn’t last too long. The Marlies swept the best of 5 series with 3 straight wins over the Admirals to secure their birth in round 2 of the AHL playoffs. AHL veteran goaltender Drew MacIntyre has been solid between the pipes for the Marlies posting an impressive 1.33 Goals Against Average and .955 Save Percentage through 3 games.

The Chicago Wolves had quite the opposite series in round 1 against the Rochester Americans. The Wolves capitalized on some missed Amerks opportunities in game 1 and managed to hold off their late push in game 5 to advance. Dmitrij Jaskin scored 2 game winning goals and Jake Allen came up big when he had to in order to provide the win.

The Marlies have found scoring touch just in time after outscoring the Admirals 11-4 in the first two games of their series. The high firing Marlies will square off against the Wolves in a 7 game series in round 2.
