South Bend, IN – The Irish looked like they were going to stop their five-game skid, but that was was only after the first period. The Irish (15-10-0, 11-6-0-0 CCHA) gave up two goals in the second and an empty netter in the closing seconds of the game.

1st Period

Notre Dame center Anders Lee scored his 14th goal of the season to move him to within a goal of collegiate leader Ryan Walters of Nebraska-Omaha. His goal came off of a rebound from defenseman Sam Calabrese‘s shot from the top of the circle at the 6:34 mark.

2nd Period

Notre Dame center David Gerths  was called for slashing at the 2:09 mark in the second. The Irish proceeded to give up the power play goal just over halfway into the kill when Ferris State (13-9-3, 11-7-1-0 CCHA) winger Kyle Bonis scored. The Bulldogs took the lead at the 12:19 mark when Dom Panetta scored on a tip-in.

3rd Period

The Irish couldn’t get much started in the third as Bulldog goalie CJ Motte had the hot glove in the final frame. They tried to get something started late, but after a turnover in the offensive zone Bonis sailed a shot into the empty net icing the game.
