Sunday afternoon goaltender Chad Johnson started the game against the Manchester Monarchs only to be pulled after the first twenty minutes of play.  It seems as though he may have suffered a lower body injury, however the Pirates organization mentioned yesterday that the injury didn’t seem serious.  Mike Lee was recalled from the ECHL Gwinnett Gladiators for precautionary purposes.

Lee has a 9-5-1 record in the 15 games he has played in for the Gladiators with a .926 save percentage and 1.87 goals against average.  Twice already this season he was named as Reebok’s ECHL goaltender of the week.

Lee is a Fargo, North Dakota native who has played in 172 games so far in his career, including 5 with the USA World Junior Team in 2009-2010.

He will be joining the team on their road trip to Binghamton and looks to suit up for his first professional game Friday against the Senators.
