Tonight the Providence Bruins are shipping up to Portland to take on the Pirates at the Cumberland County Civic Center at 7PM ET.  This is the second time this season these two teams have met up, the last ending in the Bruins favor.

Both teams are coming off of victories last night as Portland used the power play to their advantage to push past the Sharks and the Bruins were able to hold off the Whale.

The team is still without their captain Trent Whitfield, a key component to their defensive game as they struggle to find consistency.  Recent call up Tommy Cross showed some potential last night picking up an assist against the Whale after costing them a goal early on in the first period. While he still has some improving to do, he could be just what the Bruins need.

Chris Bourque is looking to keep his point streak going as he has registered points in four of his last six games and currently leads his team with 13.

Portland’s David Rundblad is also looking to keep his streak alive as he has scored three goals in his last three games.  Alexandre Bolduc is also looking to extend his point lead as he has 12 goals and 8 assists so far this season.

Tonight’s game can be seen online on AHL Live for a small fee.
