Jr. Sabres Finish Off 3-in-3

The Buffalo Jr. Sabres take on the Toronto Lakeshore Patriots tonight in a 7:30 p.m. matchup at the Northtowns Center that will complete a three-in-three stretch for Buffalo.

Both Buffalo and Toronto are coming off losses to North York in their last games and will look to rebound tonight before both teams rest again until their next games on Friday against Mississauga and Oakville, respectively.

The Jr. Sabres suffered a 4-2 defeat to the North York Rangers on Sunday. Despite having 29 shots, the team went 1 for 8 on the power play and Rangers goaltender Avery Allen held on for the win.

Nolan Sheeran and Pat Egan scored for Buffalo, while Max Mikowski and Dylan Howatt added the assists. Nathan Pelligra also had a pair of assists in the loss.

Jr. Sabres goaltender Parker Gahagen had 30 saves in 59:58 of ice time.

Ryan Kinsella, Corey Kalk, Nicholas Geiser and John Carpino scored for North York. Kinsella’s goal came on the empty net.

Prior to that, Buffalo took on the Mississauga Chargers on Saturday evening in an 8 p.m. game. The Jr. Sabres defeated the Chargers by a score of 5-3 in a game filled with shots, shots and more shots – Buffalo tallied 51, while Mississauga tallied 43.

Pat Egan had a goal and three assists in the win.

Mark Powell, Sean Federow, Max Mikowski and David Seward also scored for Buffalo, and Nathan Pelligra added a pair of assists. Mikowski, Gjurich, Sheeran and Schmelzer also notched helpers.

The Jr. Sabres went 3 for 6 on the power play against Mississauga, and goaltender Bobby Bloomfield had 40 saves, to lead the team to victory.

Meanwhile, Trevor Warnaar, Matt Donnelly and Lucas Venuto scored for the Chargers, and goaltneder Austin Washkurak had 46 saves in the loss.

The Lakeshore Patriots’ last game came in the form of a 2-1 loss to North York on Friday. Feric had the lone goal for Toronto, and goaltender Santana had 23 saves.
